The Metaphor

I've been browsing through my pictures when I caught a glimpse of this. It's one of the oldest light house in the Philippines the Faro de Punta Luzaran of Guisi, Guimaras. One the most hidden gems in the Philippines. It's slowly gaining popularity over the years because of its acclaim sands, crystal clear water and wild life. It is by far a sweet escape from reality.

The passage of years had made the place forgetful of its former glory. Local efforts had tried to maintain the beauty which it once hold. Old as it maybe and laden with tetanus inducing injuries if uncareful of the exploration within its confinement. It will remain as one of the oldest light house in the country. No stripping of its title will ever happen. It is a witness of insurmountable stories that had took place there.

Even in ruins, it has a sense of beauty. Captivated by the rustic feel it exudes. Like humans, it has the ability to catch one's heart even in its senescence. Young as one be, the grandeur of how it stood draws people to appreciate the state of its usefulness but as years pass, continuous maintenance are needed for survival. Humans age and cope with the changes of time. The wear and tear of the human body and spirit needs constant renewal to be in an optimum state of well being. It is the understanding that as a person's functionality is vital. Along the way people experiences trials and struggles that would make them stronger. No amount of wind, time and shift in weather could easily break a human heart that has endured a lot. What people may see is an old ruin in dismay, but what I see is the beauty of the passage of time. The light house like human will always be beautiful. The Metaphor.
