It took me a really long time to get here and yes! I finally made it. Hello Nogas Island! It is an island off the coast of Anini-y in the province of Antique in Western Visayas. The island is bustling with life. Your eyes will be filled with numerous fauna and flora. Don't forget those clear water and powdery sands. It's absolutely delightful!
The Iconic Kalachuchi Trail.
A sweet escape to the coastal part where a lot of beach loving and water seeking travelers choose to flock especially because of it's proximity from the cities. You could even tour the whole island on foot. Take the opportunity to tour when the low tide is at its peak around 2-3 in the afternoon.
There are no human inhabitants on the island but you could have an overnight stay either by cottages or tents (bring your own tents). There are public toilets and cottages available, free of charge. Yes! It's absolutely free. There's no entrance to the island. No corkage and you could cook your meal. Don't hesitate when you need something, people are quite hospitable. There's a convenience store from beer, ice, snacks (prices differ thou) and even fresh fishes to cook (affordable). May 17 marks the annual feast where female visitors could join and sashay their way to the iconic Kalachuchi making it their runway, garbbed indigenous materials the island could provide.

Cottages are free.
Clear water.
So, how do you get here? Go to Molo Terminal and take a Dao or Anini-y bus (ask the konduktor if you're unsure). Trips are available as early as 4am with a 15minute departure time. You could choose either by aircon and non-aircon buses. A php20-30 fare difference from the air conditioned buses but fare would cost around php96-98 (non-air con). Travel time is approximately 2 1/2 hour unless you ride a van or rent a car which shorten your time by 30mins to an hour depending on your speed. Either you drop at Siraan Hot Spring (yes! It's another tourist spot) adjacent to that are the boat rentals for a minimum of php500 good for 10pax taking you to the island about 15mins. Another drop off option is in Anini-y Elementary School in Anini-y Poblacion or Plaza, walk your way to their coast and arrange a boat ride (it's lesser than php500). That's a round trip. Upon drop off at Siraan, you usually pay for the environmental fee for php30-50. There! Pack your bags, you're going to Nogas!
