Tuck in the coastal area of San Joaquin lies Kulyatan Marine Sanctuary. A simple get away from the city merged with the wonders of marine diversity. The place is equiped with the most basic amenities. It felt peaceful and relaxing. It reminded me to live a simple life. Everything you need is there.
Of course you could eat and they have their own grilling area with a sink to wash your raw food which is nice. Swimming, sun bathing, snorkling, exploring and some even dive. It's a non smoking area. It's so affordable that even locals come here during the weekends. It's best to make reservations since the place is always packed. Unfortunately, they don't have contact details posted for reservations. They have a store and you could ask them to cook for a price. Please be mindful and responsible in disposing your trash. A friendly reminder thou wear proper footwear (there are sharp corals and boulders), watch your little kids and be careful in swimming (the currents are strong). Entrance is php50, Rentals: cottages php250-750, Papag php50, life vest php20, snorkling gear php30. We had packed lunch so there's no corkage.
How to go there? From Molo Terminal ride a Dao or Anini-y bound buses. If you're not sure you could always ask the "konduktor". Tell him to drop you off at Kulyatan that's php79-80. Another option is from the Super (Wet market near Robinson's Place) or Mohon Terminal ride a Lawigan, San Joaquin Jeep (php80-100). The sanctuary is along the road. Enjoy!
