Dumaguete City

Dumaguete City is the capital of Negros Oriental. The south capital known for its pioneering education and tasty dessert Silvanas. It's also the seaport for Cebu, Siquijor and Dapitan. Touring around the city in less than half the day. It's definitely peaceful during the day and becomes enchanting during the night. It's as thou the city comes to life at night where the boardwalk are filled by people, music, food stalls and activities. Tourist spots around the city are adjacent to each other and are accessible by tricycle. I love the laid back feeling the city exudes.

How to get there? You can book a flight to Dumaguete City if you're from Manila or a boat (RORO or fast craft) if you're from Cebu or Dapitan. From the new Iloilo-Bacolod terminal, take a fast craft to Bacolod City as early as 6:15am (trip is every 2 hours thereafter) for php 475 round trip, terminal fee php 15. Upon arriving from the port, ride a taxi or jeepney from SM City Bacolod (walking distance from port) going to Bacolod south terminal. Ride a bus going to Dumaguete via Mabinay (faster compared to Dumaguete via San Carlos). It'll take you 5-6 hours of travel time with 2-3 pit stops on the way. Discover the City of Gentle People!
