I got the chance to revisit Tibiao, Antique. It's a 4-5 hours drive from Iloilo City. It's best to leave early in the morning but we left around 2pm and arrived around 6pm at Barangay Tuno, Tibiao, Antique. The road to the top is much better now compared two years ago. Partly cemented and rough roads that would take you about 10 minutes. You'll pass by the information center where you log your names and pay php 50 each and please get the receipt. Across that is the zipline, that would cost php 350 with a 250 meters ride. There are three places to stay at, namely: D' Tour (formerly known as Kayak Inn), Blue Water Traveler's Inn and Resto Grill and lastly, Peter's Lodge (formerly known as Eco- Park).
D' Tour (Kayak Inn). Alongside the road and the first stop. They have the biggest kawa (left lower side) and also offer kayaking activity (with three courses to choose from basic, beginner and expert). It's more of a simple and nature loving theme of a place. You better bring your own food or give them an advance booking for them to prepare your meals. An overnight stay would cost you php 200, kawa unlimited php 200, kayak php 250 each.
Blue Water Traveler's Inn and Resto Grill is the newest accommodation that opened June last year. Located at the base of the central Barangay. It have two huts, each hut has two bedrooms and a comfort room. They have their own store , television and parking space. They don't have kawa hot baths (but the have kawa for display) but the convenience of food and other necessities are within reach. An overnight stay would cost php 200/person. They offer dinner, breakfast and lunch menus.
Peter's Lodge is located at the top of the hill. You take a 10-15 minutes walk up the trail to reach the place. They have their own kawa hot baths with a nice view. Partly secluded but quite serene but don't worry there's a store along the way.The cottage would cost php 2,500, kawa hot bath for php 200 for 30 minutes.
Our itinerary includes: Trekking to the Bugtong Bato Falls (there are actual seven falls) at 7am (a tour guide is assigned at the tourism hut where you register with your php 50 receipt and php 100 fee after the trek), Kayaking (or you could skip this) then Kawa hot bath. After we left Barangay Tuno, we went for the first and original Tibiao Bakery near the University of Antique Campus (3-5 minutes from the main road) and the infamous Tibiao Fish Spa (near the elementary school).
A much needed rest before the trek tomorrow at Blue Water.
