Paraw Regatta


Paraw Regatta celebrated it's 39th year today. It is an annual event that's taking place every February and the highlight is the Paraw race. Paraw is a native boat in the Arevalo district. Seafarers sail the Iloilo strait between Iloilo and Guimaras. It is a week long celebration that holds various activities and programs in the Arevalo coastal area. It is one of the oldest and largest sailing event in the Philippines. The shores are lined with stages, food stalls, music and benches for enjoying the days event. If you want to join the event, just head to the Arevalo coastal areas. You need to be in your most comfortable clothes and protect yourself from the scorching heat of the sun but sunshine is part of the fun.

Getting there. From Iloilo City, ride a Villa Jeepney for php10 and drop off at the Tatoy's Manokan. That's where the main stage and program is held.
