San Joaquin Cemetery


The Camposanto of San Joaquin is a Baroque architectural designed chapel centered in the middle of the cemetery to bid family members one last time before they're buried. One of the best preserved architecture in the Province of Iloilo.


It was built during the Spanish Colonial era in 1892 composed of coral stones and lime stones. The red metal sheet covers the roof, brick walls are adorned by detailed floral designs with circular wrought iron windows.







Getting there. From Molo Terminal you ride a Ceres bus going to the south (Antique or Aklan) or you could go to Mohon Terminal and ride a San Joaquin jeepney or a bus coming from Molo. The fare would cost you around php50-58 (bus) or php60 (jeepney). The cemetery is along the National Highway, before the San Joaquin High School and signage to the Garin Farm.
